The inaugural showing of the Microdot 25th Anniversary Exhibition was held in the spectacular setting of the Old Courts, Wigan between the 23rd and 30th of May 2015. Due to it’s phenomenal success, we are now looking to tour the exhibition across the UK and abroad. The exhibition was a celebration of the work of Microdot from the past 25 years and contained over 200 exhibits for clients including The Verve, Oasis, Super Furry Animals, Suede, Cast, Ash and many more. Rare pieces such as original Noel Gallagher hand written lyrics, sleeve sketches by Richard Ashcroft and never before seen sleeve out-takes were on view. Also represented was Brian Cannon’s ‘Northern Soul – A Photographic Journey’ ongoing project documenting the contemporary Northern Soul scene. Visitors came from all over the UK, continental Europe and the United States to take part in the 25 year anniversary celebrations.
We welcome suggestions for potential city centre venues which would ideally fulfil the following criteria – venues would have to be in or very near any given city centre, be able to host a fully licensed bar, be able to stage the exhibition for at least a full week with a few days either side to install then dismantle and the space would have to be at least as big as the Wigan venue already used (pics below). Please note – potential venues need not necessarily be conventional exhibition spaces, warehouses, factories, old churches etc would be of great interest. The standard format for the weeks proceedings would entail a private view – by guest list only, then open to the public for a week with a ticketed closing night Q & A with Microdot founder Brian Cannon.
